This route is inspired by Oku no Hosomichi, one of Japan’s most iconic travel journals, written by the legendary haiku poet Matsuo Basho.

Riders will trace the footsteps of Basho’s historic journey, then continue onward through the land of his birth, before reaching the place where the great poet’s journey through life came to an end.
